Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role requires a strong understanding of ultrasound technology, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians, ensuring high-quality images for interpretation.
Prepare and maintain the ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and following all safety protocols.
Explain ultrasound procedures to patients, providing necessary instructions and ensuring comfort throughout the examination process.
Identify and document any abnormalities observed during the examination and communicate findings to the supervising physician.
Maintain patient records, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques through continuous education and training.
Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards in the performance of ultrasound examinations.
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent.
Proven experience as an ultrasound technician is preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and maneuver patients as necessary.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking may be required.
