A leading defense-focused technology firm is growing its engineering team and is seeking a Cloud-Native Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to support mission-critical systems for military operations at a secure location in Point Mugu, California. This is more than just a coding position. You’ll be contributing to modernizing critical defense technology by helping shape scalable, secure, cloud-based systems that support national objectives. You’ll work as part of a skilled team designing, deploying, and integrating cloud-native microservices within secure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Develop scalable backend services using C# and the latest .NET frameworks
Deploy and Manage containerized applications via Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS-native tools (e.g., ECS, Fargate)
Integrate Systems with technologies such as MongoDB, Splunk, RabbitMQ, and secure identity management tools
Improve Delivery Pipelines by contributing to and optimizing GitLab-based CI/CD processes
Collaborate Cross-Functionally within Agile teams, taking part in all stages of the development lifecycle
Grow into Leadership through mentorship opportunities, architectural input, and technical ownership of project components
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have between 3 and 10 years of experience developing production-ready software and working with cloud-native architectures. Core Requirements:
Solid experience with C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core
Background in designing microservices-based systems
Hands-on experience with Docker and one or more orchestration tools (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Angular and building RESTful APIs
Proficient with both SQL (e.g., MSSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments Preferred Skills:
Experience with DevOps tools, Git version control, and CI/CD workflows (GitLab preferred)
Familiarity with AWS services, including ECS, Fargate, and S3
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Comfortable using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.
Knowledge of authentication protocols such as OAuth2 and OpenID Connect; experience with tools like Keycloak is a bonus
Strong analytical and communication skills
Education & Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Substitution Policy: In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 6 years of relevant professional experience may be substituted. An associate degree with 4 years of additional relevant experience is also acceptable. Other Requirements
