Our project portfolio features experience in bridge, highway, and structural design; condition and safety inspection; civil and site engineering support; construction inspection and administration; survey and mapping; and hydrographic services.

Please note that you must have a valid New York State Driver's license or the ability to obtain one. This a daily field position, and you are expected to be on-site for each project. The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for overseeing and conducting surveying projects for various clients. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to lead a team of surveying professionals.

This position can be based out of Binghamton, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, or Albany office.

What you’ll be able to do:

• Oversee and conduct surveys to determine precise locations and measurements of various features such as land boundaries, topography, and other physical features.
• Lead and direct a team of surveying professionals in the field to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Develop and maintain accurate survey records, reports, and sketches to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data collected.
• Operate survey equipment such as Total Stations, GPS units, and data collectors to collect accurate measurements and data.
• Analyze survey data and prepare maps, charts, and other graphical representations of survey results using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Minimum AA degree in surveying or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in surveying, including experience as a Party Chief.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
• Extensive knowledge of surveying equipment, methods, and practices.
• Familiar with Trimble S5/S7 Robotics, Trimble R12i RTK, Trimble R10 base station, Trimble TSC5 data collection, Trimble access, Trimble digital levels, and level run adjustments.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, Autodesk, Autodesk Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, Traverse PC, or MicroSurvey.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with clients,
• contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in the field in various weather conditions, some overnight travel.
