This position is a Mobile Equipment Operator 2 – Heavy in the Coastal Lafayette Region and reports directly to a Maintenance Foreman. This is a highly skilled position that requires a high degree of precision and safety in the operation of large mobile equipment on and off barges, in soft fluid marsh soils, as well as on solid ground; all in the support of marsh management and erosion control projects as well as facility construction. Operates heavy equipment such as bulldozers, draglines, tractors, pile drivers, backhoes, excavators (land-based, amphibious), trucks and boats and provides maintenance and minor repairs to this equipment.
