Job Title: Lounge Director
Location: Memphis, TN
Job Type: Part-Time (Evenings & Weekends Required)

Pay Range: $14-$16

This is a part-time position. This means hours range from 15-25 hours per week.

The same creators of Memphis Escape Rooms and The Adventure Museum are introducing a brand new interactive entertainment venue!

Game Nite Lounge isn’t your average entertainment spot - it’s a place where games, good vibes, and great service come together. We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Shift Director to lead the charge during shifts, keeping both guests and staff engaged, supported, and having a blast.

 

About the Role

As Shift Director, you’re the shift leader and frontline experience-maker. You’ll guide the flow of each shift, making sure guests are happy, lounges are running smoothly, and staff are supported. From rotating between the reception desk and bar to checking in on games and guest interactions, you’ll be the go-to problem solver, vibe checker, and team motivator.

 

What You’ll Do

• Act as shift lead, supporting staff and ensuring break coverage

• Oversee customer flow and experience across reception, bar, and game lounges

• Monitor crowd movement and lounge usage for optimal guest experience

• Enforce house rules and maintain a respectful, relaxed environment

• Open and close the lounges, including cleaning, trash removal, and resetting lounges

• Check in on game functionality and troubleshoot alongside the Location Manager

• Keep the energy up and the focus sharp - creating a fun and productive shift

• Report any operational issues, guest concerns, or team needs to the Location Manager

• Maintain familiarity with all game lounges, guest flow, and food & beverage operations

 

Skills Needed

Team Leadership – Ability to motivate and direct staff effectively.

Conflict Resolution – Handling disputes between employees or customers professionally.

Decision-Making – Making quick, informed choices to maintain efficiency.

Time Management – Prioritizing tasks and delegating effectively.

Training – Onboarding new staff and ensuring continuous skill development.

Inventory Management – Tracking bar stock, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste.

Financial Awareness – Monitoring sales, handling cash, and reducing costs.

Problem-Solving – Quickly addressing operational challenges.

Compliance Knowledge – Understanding of alcohol laws, health regulations, and workplace safety.

Technology Proficiency – Using POS systems, scheduling software, and financial tracking tools.

Customer Relations – Ensuring excellent guest experiences and resolving complaints.

Communication – Clear, professional interaction with staff and guests.

Upselling & Sales Techniques – Encouraging higher sales while keeping service quality high.

Crisis Management – Managing difficult guests, intoxicated patrons, or emergency situations.

Knowledge of Beverages – Familiarity with cocktails, wines, and beers.

Bartending Experience – Ability to step in when necessary.

Speed & Efficiency – Ensuring smooth bar operations, especially during peak hours.

 

Requirements

• Must be over 18 years of age

• Must be available nights and weekends

• Reliable transportation

• Year-round availability

• ABC and ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Must sign a non-compete and non-disclosure agreement

• Must pass a background check (no felony convictions)
