Overview The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the accounting department, with a primary focus on accounts payable and daily sales data entry. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and works closely with accountants to resolve discrepancies and maintain financial integrity. Responsibilities Accurately perform daily sales data entry and ensure timely processing of accounts payable transactions. Collaborate with accountants to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to daily sales reporting. Maintain organized records and documentation for all A/P transactions and sales entries. Assist with month-end closing processes and financial reporting as needed. Communicate effectively with internal departments to gather necessary information and resolve accounting-related inquiries. Utilize accounting software (preferably Oracle) and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data. Support the accounting team with various clerical tasks, including filing, scanning, and document management. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information. Qualifications Preferred 1 year of previous accounting or accounts payable experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and accounting databases (Oracle preferred) is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, hands-on environment. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. High level of professionalism and a commitment to maintaining positive working relationships. High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
